Liquor consignment was being brought from Punjab
Police say that a 14-wheeler tanker lorry, which belonged to HP Gas, was going from Punjab to deliver English liquor to Muzaffarpur. Meanwhile, the Central Prohibition Unit of Bihar Police received information that liquor was being smuggled on a large scale in gas tankers. As soon as the information was received, DSP Abhijeet Kumar of the Central Prohibition Unit of Bihar Police reached Paliganj border with his team and when they tried to catch the tanker and investigate, the police were stunned. Meanwhile, as soon as they got the opportunity, the driver and the helper fled from there.
Police laid siege on secret information
In this regard, DSP Abhijeet Kumar said that there was a plan to bring liquor from outside in a gas tanker and supply it in Bihar. Based on secret information, the police seized it in Paliganj on the border of Arwal and Bihar. He told that the value of the seized liquor is around Rs 10 to 15 lakh. The police is investigating who is the leader of this consignment. Regarding the liquor seized on a large scale today, the team of Bihar Police Madhya Nishad Unit said that if there had been a little mistake on the part of the administration, these liquor smugglers would have succeeded in their objective. However, the police is determined to thwart their intentions.
